Scholarships
The following scholarships are available:

1. The MBA program aims to attract the strongest applicants. For this reason, the MBA program offers a number of scholarships for candidates who are accepted for the academic year 2011-2012 based on:

2. The MBA program, within its social responsibility and contribution dimension of creating leaders of tomorrow, has announced 32 scholarships for the academic year 2011-2012. The scholarships will be awarded based on the academic achievements and work experience of applicants who have been accepted in the program and are currently working for the following organizations:

Admission

Candidates must submit a completed application before the deadline, along with a copy of their academic degree(s), a verification from KYSATS if required, copies of certificates of other relevant examinations, and two recent photographs.

Admission Requirements:

  • Degree from a recognized academic institution or equivalent.
  • The program accepts students according to the selection criteria that focus on work experience and prior academic performance.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who have at least 3 years of full-time work experience and superior academic performance, which may also be demonstrated through GMAT or GRE exams.
  • Candidates that apply to the program in English must demonstrate proficiency in English through one of the following: TOEFL or IELTS or GCE or equivalent, unless they hold a degree from an English speaking institution.
  • Two recommendations from academics or people who are familiar with the work of the candidate.
  • Applicants will be invited for a personal interview to assess their contribution potential to the program.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship Position Phd Philosophy in Molecular Biology, Norway

The position (SKO 1352) is available at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, Institute for Experimental Medical Research (IEMR), Oslo University Hospital Ullevål.

IEMR (www.iemf.no) is devoted to basic and translational research with a particular focus on molecular mechanisms of heart failure. The Institute is part of a larger collaborative network in the Oslo region (www.heartfailure.no), which is supported by the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority and University of Oslo. Within this network IEMR has extensive collaboration with clinical cardiological departments and basic research groups. IEMR is also affiliated with the Nordic EMBL Partnership in Molecular Medicine, and is part of KG Jebsen Cardiac Research Centre.

The position is funded by the Norwegian Research Council for three years. The research project is part of a larger programme on signaling in stress- and cytokine-induced myocardial hypertrophy and heart failure.

All work time will be allocated to research, research-related activities and research administration. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in specialized training and supervision of PhD students. The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their disciplines.

Qualifications and Personal Skills

The position is available for a researcher with experience in molecular biology and/or cellular imaging.

Requirements

  • A completed PhD (or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree) is a prerequisite for the appointment.

An expert committee will evaluate the applicants. The evaluation will have emphasis on the scientific papers (including the PhD thesis) submitted by the applicants, but other personal qualifications will also be evaluated. Information and materials that are to be considered in the evaluation must be submitted within the application deadline. Names of two references should be provided. Applicants may be called in for an interview.

Research Associate Development and Practical Application Phd Philosophy of Novel Computational Methods and Software for Water Distribution Systems

Circa: £29,099

A postdoctoral research associate is required to work on the development and practical application of novel computational methods and software for water distribution systems. Optimization of water distribution systems is extremely complex and the aim of the project is to develop algorithms and associated software that are robust and fast enough for routine use in the water industry. The project is funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and is led by Dr Tiku Tanyimboh. The appointment is fixed term for a period of one year.

The candidate should have, or expect to have gained by the time of the appointment, a PhD or equivalent in an Engineering discipline. A developing publication record in peer reviewed international journals is essential. The candidate is expected to be highly motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience within the water industry is desirable. Proven expertise in water distribution modelling and research (including pressure-dependent and water quality; numerical analysis and evolutionary optimization methods; and computer programming including FORTRAN and C++ are essential.

The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively with other staff and PhD students on complementary projects, therefore good verbal and written communication skills are essential. The research involves close collaboration with Veolia Water.
