Scholarship Description
Two full-time PhD scholarships are available in Computing at Macquarie University. There are two projects: Project 1: Machine learning & statistical models for natural language processing, and Project 2: Using statistics and machine learning to construct computational models of human language learning and use. Both projects are open to international and domestic students. Only one international scholarship (covering tuition fees and stipend) is available. The successful applicants will interact with researchers in the Language Science CORE and the Centre for Language Technology and should be willing to learn linguistics as required. Prospective applicants should submit a cover letter detailing relevant experience, a CV and an academic transcript to the principal supervisor. Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD22500 (per annum). This award is to be used for research, living expenses, fees and miscellaneous purposes. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 and a half years.
Research Information
This scholarship is for one of the following fields of research: Cognitive science, Information systems, INFORMATION, COMPUTING AND COMMUNICATION SCIENCES, Linguistics or Other information, computing and communication sciences.
Eligibility
This scholarship is for study in Australia for those who have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent.
